Time Line Therapy®

What is Time Line Therapy? 

Everyone has a ‘time line’.  It is how you unconsciously store your memories from the past and also helps you to imagine and set goals in your future. 

Timeline Therapy

Before your conscious memory (before the age of about 2 years old) you will have experienced negative emotions (e.g. anger, sadness, fear, hurt, guilt).  You will have made decisions, taken learnings, stored beliefs and acted in a certain way based on events in the past.  Some of these decisions, learnings, beliefs and behaviours are not helpful, however, at the time they seemed right and helped you to make sense and cope with the situation.  These decisions, beliefs etc. have been stored in your unconscious mind and in your time line. 

Now, whenever the same or similar situation arises, your unconscious mind recognises it, digs out what it learnt in order to deal with the situation and then replays the same emotions, beliefs etc. and you end up displaying the same behaviour.  As you experience more of these negative emotions and situations throughout your life, you re-enforce your beliefs and learnings every time and end up carrying around all these unwarranted negative emotions and behaviours.  These can lead to inappropriate emotional reactions, such as bursts of anger, periods of apathy, depression, sadness, anxiety, and chronic fear, and prevent you from achieving the quality of life you desire. Limiting decisions, such as "I'm not good enough," "I'll never be rich," or "I don't deserve a great marriage," also limit you in certain areas of your life.  Exhausting!!

The process of Time Line Therapy® (TLT) is a completely safe, conscious process which takes you back to the ‘root cause’ of these negative emotions and decisions.  Once there you will re-evaluate your decision taking positive learnings from the situation instead and take them with you back to now and into your future.  This leaves you with only positive emotions and empowering decisions.  (You will NOT know when the route cause is, it will be before the age of 2 years.  We will discover it during the process of TLT). 

Time line therapy does not make you re-live bad or upsetting past experiences, you do not have to delve in and re-live them!   Much of it is ‘content free’ which means you don’t have to reveal details about your past which may be uncomfortable for you.

What to expect

  • We will discover where your time line is
  • We will take a quick ‘test flight’ to a happy event in your past so that you understand the process and know what to expect
  • We will then, one at a time, go back to the root cause of your anger, sadness, fear, hurt and guilt plus any other negative emotions that are identified
  • We will help you re-evaluate (or re-frame) the event by taking positive learnings, leaving you with good, empowering feelings and decisions
  • We will test out each one by asking you to go back to a time when you used to experience that old emotion and make sure that it is gone.
  • People have described feelings of being ‘lighter’, ‘relaxed and calm’, ‘enlightened’ after TLT.  My personal experience is ‘all of the above!’
